Instructions for Health Checkup
The day before checkup
- Please eat lightly before 9:00 pm and start fast after 9:00 pm (no water, gum, tobacco, etc.)
- Pls. refrain from drinking, overeating and excessive activities.
- Pls. also refrain from meat, raw fish, iron-containing medication, etc. starting from 2 days before the checkup for accurate stool test.
On the day of checkup
- Please don't take breakfast, water and coffee, and don't smoke or chew gum. (If you have to take blood glucose drug, please have it with the minimum amount of water.)
- It is advisable to collect stool for checkup in the morning of the test.
- Please fill out the questionnaire and submit it to the reception counter before starting the checkup.
- For women, it is recommended to check about 10 days after the start of menstruation. If you are pregnant or assume to become pregnant, you are not allowed to get any radiation-related test.
After checkup
- Consultation: The results will be informed 7 ~ 10 days after the medical checkup. Please book the schedule for consultation before going home.
- Mailing: If you are unable to schedule a meeting for consultation, we will mail the results to the address you specified.
- If a medical treatment is found necessary according to the results of the health checkup, we will connect you to the relevant department for treatment.
- ※ Please follow the instructions of your doctor and nurse for taking lunch after your health checkup. If you have taken gastrointestinal imaging, drink plenty of water until the day after the test.
When you plan to undergo gastroscopy
- have dinner lightly and do not eat anything after 10 pm the day before the test. (Neither meal nor tobacco, milk, water, medicine, etc. are allowed.)
- fast in the morning, do not make up your lips, but come in comfortable clothes on the day of the test.
- avoid diabetic medicine and injections, and take your blood pressure medicine, if required, with some water around 5 am in the morning of the test.
- thrombolytic agents (such as Comadin) and aspirin drugs should be discontinued 3 to 4 days before the test. However, if you have a serious heart disease, please consult with the professor before you decide to stop.
- if you have any of the following diseases or symptoms, please notify your doctor before the examination: heart disease, glaucoma, hypertrophy of the prostate, severe hypertension, tonsillitis, asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, liver cirrhosis, hemorrhagic blood diseases, drug allergy reaction, pregnancy, etc.
Should you be found to have needs to undergo a biopsy or special examination during the examination, you will be charged separate examination fee(s).
- Meals can be taken one hour after the test, but those who have undergone biopsy should follow the instructions of your doctor and nurse.
When you plan to take gastrointestinal imaging
- have dinner lightly and do not eat anything after 10 pm the day before the test (neither meal nor tobacco, milk, water, medicine, etc. are allowed)
- tell the examiner ahead about whether you have been treated for gastrointestinal problems, have had previous gastric surgery, or have experienced problems in swallowing food or water in the past
- have the examiner take the imaging while you rotate your body left and right as he instructs after taking a contrast agent (white potion)
- please drink plenty of water after the test since liquid medicine used for the test may cause you constipation although it is harmless to body.
